Engagement Era Styles!

I’ve been engaged since mid-July, and I’ve been soaking it all in! Securing our venue was super important to me, but beyond that, we’ve intentionally taken a step back from the whirlwind of wedding planning to enjoy this new chapter together. (Life has kept us busy with career changes and planning out what’s next!)

Still, I couldn’t wait to share some of the bridal looks I’ve worn so far that have made the beginning of this season so special. I’m so excited to dive back into planning soon and to soak up every last bridal moment!

The Proposal Dress

This is the dress I was proposed to in! Hunter proposed while we were celebrating my birthday this year. We had a light itinerary for the day, and he actually helped me pick out this dress. We got engaged on July 11th, and this look was the perfect mid-summer outfit – effortless, romantic, and just a little bridal. I also love that he nudged me toward something that felt like me!

Engagement Beach Photos Dress

A few months ago, I went on a weekend trip to Michigan with some of my friends (spoiler: this trip was planned to throw me off and make me think I was getting engaged in Michigan – not on my birthday! LOL… and it definitely worked! More on that in an upcoming blog 😉 ).

While we were there, I knew I’d want to capture a few simple engagement-style photos on the beach. I found the sweetest summer dress for the occasion, and I LOVED it! It was slightly sheer, but the floral details were stunning, and the off-the-shoulder neckline added such an elegant touch.

Celebratory Accessories

When I got engaged, a few friends and family gifted me the cutest bridal accessories! Three of my favorites are:

A blue hat (you know I love a good bridal blue!) that says “Gonna Get Married” – I’m obsessed and literally want to wear it every day. Shop here.

An all-white crewneck with puffy “BRIDE” lettering – so fun to wear during that first week of being engaged! Shop here.

A custom “Future Mrs. Hill” t-shirt with little wedding icons – I wore it the night of our engagement and it was adorable.

The Jewelry

Of course, my favorite new bridal “look” is the engagement ring Hunter gifted me. It’s absolutely perfect. We designed it together, a custom Toi et Moi style, which means “you and me.” I didn’t see the final piece until the proposal, and it was everything I dreamed of. Jewelry from Bowers Jewelers.

My best friend also gifted me a dainty gold necklace with my future initials monogrammed on it (from the same jeweler who made my ring!), and I wear literally it every day!

This is just the beginning of my bridal looks and I can’t wait to wear white as often as possible over the next couple of years. I’ll be sharing all of my favorite finds and outfits along the way!

Venue Touring Dress

Although “dressing for the occasion” definitely isn’t necessary for venue tours, I just couldn’t resist! Hunter and I did a lot of venue research – virtual tours, in-person visits, and plenty of time spent weighing our options. We happened to have one day when we were both off work and able to visit most of the venues on our list together, so of course I had to dress up a little.

We toured in late summer, which meant warm weather… and one venue that was literally a construction site (IYKYK). So my outfit may not have been the most practical, but it was definitely summer-pretty! I wore a long midi, strapless white dress with a bubble hem. I couldn’t find the exact link on their website anymore, but the dress is called the Altar’d State Luca Midi Dress (NWT).
